iThenticate is a plagiarism-detection software site. Through UTK, UTHSC faculty and students can login to iThenticate and upload a document. iThenticate scans it, and then generates a report that points out potentially problematic sections or citation errors within the paper.
SafeAssign at UTHSC was built into UTHSC Blackboard application. It compares students’ papers to a local and national database of other student submissions and returns a score and highlighted portions of the paper that allow faculty to decided whether or not to conduct a plagiarism investigation.
