How have plants impacted people’s lives, and how have humans impacted plants? This lecture will provide an overview of the history of the relationships between humans and plants, with a focus on how human health and plant health are related both historically and to the current day.
Sarah Boyle is an associate professor in the Department of Biology at Rhodes College. For the last two decades, she has studied the impacts of forest loss and fragmentation on the ecology and conservation of species. As a biology professor, she enjoys teaching students how plants, as well as many other biological organisms, are important for human health.
