Psychiatry Journals in Journal Citation Reports

Journal Citation Reports (JCR) provides information about journals, including abbreviations, how often it’s published, and the publisher. JCR also has a unique feature that reports a journal’s Impact Factor. A journal's Impact Factor is the average number of times articles from the journal published in the past two years have been cited in the JCR year. This information is great for students, faculty, and researchers to see which journals are key in their field. Below are instructions on how to access JCR to find key Psychiatry journals.

  1. Access JCR by clicking on the link above the previous paragraph.
  2. Click on the "Browse by Category" button beneath the search bar.
  3. On the left hand side of the screen, click on "Select Categories."
  4. Scroll through the categories until you see "PSYCHIATRY."
  5. Click the check box next to the Psychiatry category and hit "Submit."
  6. To access the list of journals, click on the number in the "#Journals" column. For the 2017 JCR year, that number is 142.
  7. The journals on this list are ranked by Journal Impact Factor. You may click on journal titles to get more information about them.
