New as of August 2020

PolicyMap is an interactive online mapping tool with which you may create maps, tables and graphs covering Demographics, Incomes & Spending, and more.

PolicyMap has several datasets that are exclusive to PolicyMap or licensed from an outside source. These datasets can be viewed on your custom site.

Premium data includes:

*Health Outcomes and Risk Factors. PolicyMap has created neighborhood-level estimates of how many people are affected by over a dozen health outcomes and risk factors, such as asthma, COPD, depression, diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and stroke. Our researchers created these estimates using a statistical analysis of responses from the CDC's Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System survey combined with geographic, socioeconomic, and demographic data from the U.S. Census Bureau.

*Consumer Spending Habits data provides small area estimates of household expenditures for several major categories of household expenses, including total expenditures, food, food at home, food away from home, alcohol, education, and housing.

*Medical Spending Estimates combine information on payments for medical care from the Department of Health and Human Services' Agency for Health Research and Quality (AHRQ) Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (2017) with demographic and health data from the U.S. Census American Community Survey (2013-2017).

*The Social Needs Index incorporates data from urban research firm New Localism Advisors and incorporates variables like population below poverty; households with rent or mortgages greater than 30% of their income; population not in the labor force; population with less than a high school degree and the Gini Index of concentrated income.

*The Community Healthcare Report provides thorough and up-to-date information about health conditions. The comprehensive report combines indicators of healthcare access, health behaviors, general health, morbidity, mortality, food security, and social determinants of health in a given county or health tract. This pdf report is dynamically created in moments and was designed with the input of experts in the field and with our extensive knowledge of the date related to the area.
